About Matt

A life long York County resident, Matt graduated from York College of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and minor in Accounting.  He began his professional career as a police officer, and then worked as a security contractor for the Department of the Army.

With the support of his wife, Matt worked his way through law school at Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle.  Before graduating law school he began clerking with Menges & Mclaughlin, PC and in his last year began practicing as a Certified Legal Intern. After graduation Matt began practicing law full time.

Now a shareholder with Trinity Law, the successor to Menges & McLaughlin, PC, Matt has a diverse practice field.  He has handled civil jury trials, criminal jury trials, including complex felony cases, juvenile delinquency, protection from abuse, child support, divorce, custody, mortgage foreclosure, tax assessment appeals, municipal law, firearms law, will contests, and other estate litigation.

In 2012 Matt was elected to the Dover Township Board of Supervisors, where he served as Chair in 2015 and 2016. He also serves as Vice-Chair of the Northern York County Regional Police Department Board of Commissioners. Matt has volunteered as a Director of Typical Life Corporation since 2007, and was President of the Board from 2011-2015. 

Matt has partnered with elected officials and law enforcement throughout south central Pennsylvania to provide free educational seminars on firearms law.  Through nearly 100 seminars in the last 5 years, he has reached thousands of people to help them understand their rights and responsibilities as a firearm owner, and more importantly how to safely interact with law enforcement.  

From 2014 until recently, Matt served as an elected State Committee member and elected York County Committee member for the Republican Party.  Central Penn Business Journal named Matt one of its 40 under 40 in 2014 and he was named a Top Attorney for 2016 in the Global Directory of Who’s Who. 

Matt and his wife, Jamie, live in Dover with their two children and Bullmastiff. Matt and his family attend Providence Presbyterian Church, where Matt drums for the music team. Matt is also a Ranger in York County's first Christian Service Brigade unit, where he disciples boys in 3rd and 4th grades.
